Silton Village - Dorset

Coronavirus

November 2020

Dear Neighbour,

As we go into lockdown once again, hopefully for just a month, I am writing to extend an offer of support to Silton villagers as we did back in the Spring.  If you are confined to your home and perhaps struggling to get essential supplies and medicines or if you would be glad of someone locally to keep in touch with, do contact me by emailing silton.parish@gmail.com or you can call me on 01747 840087.

I thought it also might be useful to give you an update on opening times and services being offered by local shops and other businesses – details are below.  If you are aware of any other businesses who are doing something different or extra, please let me know.

Best wishes to everyone and do get in touch if we can be of any help.

Jackie Dyer

XX March 2020

Dear Neighbour,

With the uncertain times we find ourselves in, it would be good if we can help any villagers of Silton who are confined to their homes and perhaps struggling to get essential supplies and medicines or who would be glad of someone locally to keep in touch with. I would like to try to build up a group of residents who might be available to assist with any requests for help and I am happy to coordinate things.

If you feel you would benefit from such an offer of help, please do get in touch with me at the following email address – silton.parish@gmail.com – and I will do my best to help. If you could let me have the following information, that would be great:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your telephone number
  • A brief idea of how we might be able to help you
  • Confirmation that you would be happy for this information to be passed on to a group of village helpers.

If you are able to help with any requests we may have from residents for such a service and would like to volunteer, could you also email me at silton.parish@gmail.com and let me know the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your mobile number
  • A brief idea of how you might be able to help
  • Whether you would be happy for your mobile number to be shared with other helpers – I may set up a Whatsapp group for coordinating any requests depending on the demand.

I will also be delivering this information by hand to residents who do not have access to email.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that we can get something off the ground soon to keep people in touch and as safe and comfortable as possible.

Best wishes,

Jackie
